Fun with Notecards and Presents & Pinecones DSP

Happy Monday!
I'm starting today off with a small display I created for a fellow team member.

 I used the Presents and Pinecones DSP along with a few stamp sets for the images.
Main colors are Emerald Envy, Mint Macaron, Delightful Dijon and Cherry Cobbler. I am loving these colors together so you'll see this color combo again very soon! Here are some close-ups:

Here are the notecards with matching envelopes. It's so easy to add the DSP to the flap and what a WOW factor.

Thank You Notes

Have you ever had to write so many thank you notes that you thought your arm was going to fall off from all the writing? That's me today. See here:

In case you can't count...there's a couple dozen. Then as I was curing my writer's cramp, I realized how fortunate I am to HAVE THE NEED to write these thank you notes. I mean...if I have 2 dozen people I need to thank in my life...what a blessing that is! Am I right?

 I struggled with what to use to make these, and then I decided to use the prints I had left over from our weekend stamping event! I'll admit...these prints were left over because I just didn't know what to do with them. In the Fruit Stand Designer Paper Pack, there are gorgeous prints. These two were the ones that just didn't make me giggle with delight. But...I turned them into some thank you notes, and VOILA!! Now I love them. I never know what to do with the monotone prints. But you couple them with a lace doily, some burlap ribbon, and a cute fruit stamp, and then---you have a cute note! And what's even better? Now I don't have some sad pear paper and peach vine paper sitting around waiting to be loved. Yes...I think of my crafting supplies like the toys in Toy Story. They are just junk until somebody loves them. :)  I am a lucky girl to have so many lovely people in my life! I hope they enjoy their notes when they receive them!

Today's the DAY!!!

Hi Friends!
Today is THE DAY!! Our first weekend stamping event is taking place TONIGHT! We're so excited to show off all the talent on our team. We've got displays from all over the U.S. We've got prizes, goodies for the attendees, Live Demonstrations, the most fun make-n-takes, snacks, raffle prizes and a little surprise they don't even know about! SSShhh!! I feel like I've been surrounded by fairies and elves all week, lifting me up, helping me, working til all hours of the night! I think it'll be SO much fun! Can't wait to report back!

Inking Idaho Colorado Springs Style Projects!

Affectionately Yours!

Have you seen the Affectionately Yours Product Suite? Oh.Em.Gee. It's gorgeous! It's on pages 44 & 45 in the Annual Catalog 2016-2017. Flowers---and COPPER...beautiful! It's no secret I love stamping flowers. They just make me happy! Don't get me wrong...I do buy other things as well, but I just can't stay away from the flowers. This card has the Affectionately Yours Specialty DSP, (you can't see the loveliness in this photo, but the copper is also in the PAPER! It has the Affectionately Yours Washi Tape (across the top of the DSP) and I stamped the greeting with our NEW in-color--Flirty Flamingo..another love of mine! :) The flowers are stamped with Versamark then embossed with the copper embossing powder. I wish you could see the pretty sheen in this photo! The flowers are fussy cut. (Stampin' Up! Make me a punch!!) I bumped them up on dimensionals to add some dimension to the card. I sure hope the lovely lady who receives this loves it as much as I do!

April Showers Bring Sunflowers!

Today I am sharing a card that we made at my Terrific Techniques class last week. We've had tons of snow lately here in Colorado, and I needed a pretty flower to brighten my skies, since my real garden has taken a hit from all this spring snow.

I used the Poinsettia Punch and made a cute sunflower card. I CASE'd Cindy MacLean's card. I changed it slightly, but couldn't improve upon her design.

Stamp Sets:  Hardwood, A Dozen Thoughts
Ink:  Smoky Slate, Basic Gray
Cardstock:  Smoky Slate, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Early Espresso
Accessories: Poinsettia Punch, 1 1/4 Circle Punch, Washi Label Punch, Linen Thread.

Inking Idaho on the Road Displays

Back in March, I went to a wonderful event, called Inking Idaho On the Road. It was put on by my favorite stamper, Becky Roberts. If you don't follow her blog, Inking Idaho---you should. She's an amazing stamper!

I also had the opportunity to design some projects for her event. Here is a pic of my display:

My theme was the Bold Butterfly Bundle, and the Watercolor Wings bundle. I made several cards, a diamond shaped box, and a large box to hold all the cards. :) I also used the adorable Pretty Petals paper in my theme. What do you think?

A Sketch Challenge

So each week, my Stampin' Up group, Inking Everything, has a weekly stamping challenge. Last week, it was a color challenge using these colors:

 

Here is my take on those colors:

(I used Black for my neutral instead of white) 

First I punched a 1 3/4 circle from a sticky note and used it to place my moon on a Whisper White background. Then I sponged my background using Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango and Tempting Turquoise. After the background was done, I lightly sponged Curry and a touch of Tangerine onto my moon, to make it tri-colored. Then I took Basic Black Archival Ink and stamped the Flower images using the Wild About Flowers stamp set. The greeting is from this set too. Tie a basic black ribbon around, and mount it to a black cardbase. Very simple and quick card with a WOW effect.
